Consider Approving Concepts for the 2019 Street Reclamation Project (Third Street)

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves a Motion adopting the attached recommended design concepts for the 2019 Street Reclamation Project (Third Street).

Summary Report:
Bolton and Menk Engineers, along with City Staff, facilitated a Public Engagement process that has included public meetings and an open comment period to gather input from adjacent property owners and community members. From the feedback received and project goals, recommended concepts for both the Third Street portion of 2019 Street Reclamation Project are attached. (Attachment 1).

Staff held an Open House on February 4, 2019 to gather input on the proposed Third Street Corridor. This open house meeting was a noticed meeting requesting comments from the community as well as the adjacent property owners on the Third Street Corridor. From that meeting, Staff, along with Bolton and Menk, generated two design options for the Third Street Corridor. These design options were posted on the Project Website for an open comment period from February 20, 2019 to February 27, 2019. Staff has compiled the comments in Attachment 2. Below are the amenities for both Design Option #1 and Design Option #2:
