Consider Joint Resolution for Orderly Annexation with Greenvale Township.

Action Requested:                     

The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution for Orderly Annexation with Greenvale Township for Hauberg Woods.

 

Summary Report:

The City of Northfield owns land in Greenvale Township for the Hauberg Woods Park.  The land wasn’t annexed when it was donated to the City and the City has been working with Greenvale Township to annex the property.  The township approved the annexation agreement on April 20, 2023. 

 

The Subject Area is described in Exhibit A and depicted in Exhibit B.  Because the proposed annexation area is owned by the City, there will be no tax reimbursement to the township.

 

Alternative Options:

No alternatives are recommended at this time.

 

Financial Impacts:                     

There are no financial implications for the Orderly Annexation Agreement.

 

Tentative Timelines:                     

Once approved by both City Council, staff will file the Orderly Annexation Agreement with the Office of Administrative Hearings.
