Recognition of Service to the Northfield Heritage Preservation Commission - Alice Thomas.

The Heritage Preservation Commission is asked to celebrate Alice Thomas’ service to the commission.
Summary Report:
Commissioner Thomas has served on the HPC for two full terms, 2017-2022. She has been a crucial advocate for historic preservation within and outside of the HPC. During her time, she accomplished many things including: drafting a wall sign checklist, designation of two local heritage preservation sites: the Northfield Depot and the A.W. Norton House, reformatting the annual work plan, proposing amendments to the sign code, attending local and national preservation conferences, diligent shadowing of other boards, and more. In 2021, her dedication to public service was recognized by her peers as the Board and Commission Excellence Award winner. Beyond the HPC, she has worked diligently on securing, moving, and restoring the Northfield Depot with the Save the Northfield Depot.
Commissioner Thomas’s insight and experience is greatly appreciated, and we thank her for her service, and wish her well.
