Staff Updates:
* Staff and the Planning Commission (PC) Work Plan Subcommittee met on Monday, May 9. Staff brought forward a modified work plan utilizing the Heritage Preservation Commission's work plan format. The columns remained the same and the rows were inserted with the equivalent information related to the PC. Staff and the Work Plan Subcommittee found general consensus on its format and language. The "new" draft work plan is attached for the PC to review. (time to discuss the "new" work plan further explained below)
* An additional PC meeting will be scheduled for Thursday, June 2, 2022 to facilitate a rezoning application. Vice Chair Heisler suggested a work session be added to the evening's regular meeting. Staff supports having a work session to discuss the "new" draft PC Work Plan and ways to collaborate and utilize the St. Olaf College students working on proposed amendments to the Land Development Code to facilitate the Climate Action Plan.
* Several site plan review applications continue to be processed by staff.
* Staff continues to be in discussion with several developers on prospective residential, commercial and industrial projects.
* The application to locally designate 418 College St. - Norton House is in the review process. The application has been shared with the MN State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO), who has recommended local designation. City Council will hold a public hearing and have the first & second readings of the ordinance in May.
* Jacob Reilly has been hired as the new Community Development Director.
* Training/Learning Opportunities:
