Consider Motion to Approve Lease Agreement with Rice County at the Northfield Community Resource Center (NCRC).

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council considers a Motion to approve the lease agreement with Rice County at the NCRC.
Summary Report:
The City and Rice County have been in discussions on relocating County services that were provided in City Hall over to the NCRC. The relocation will fit well with the other service providers at NCRC.
The proposed lease with Rice County is for 10-years. Rice County is responsible for the buildout of their leased spaces, along with interior general maintenance of the leased area. The City is responsible for HVAC, exterior wall, windows, doors, parking lot and common areas.
Rice County is planning to begin construction in February 2022 and services operating late spring/early summer.
Alternative Options:
City could choose not to lease the space; however, staff is recommending approval of the lease.
Financial Impacts:
Monthly rent for the first year is $1,001.90 and increases 3% per year.

10-year lease 2022-2032
