Title

Consider Resolution to Authorize the Purchase of Larue D60 Snow Blower.

Body

Action Requested:

The Northfield City Council authorizes purchasing a Larue D60 snow blower for $200,891.00

Summary Report:

The Street and Park Division budgeted in the Capital Equipment Plan to replace the 1975 SnoGo snow blower. The loader-mounted, engine driven snow blower is used for downtown snow removal, removing drifted areas of snow and removing high snowbanks from intersections.  The purchase of the snow blower will be through the Minnesota State Contract Pricing - MN State Contract # 192752.

Alternative Options:

The City Council could reject the Resolution causing staff to determine different alternatives to replace the 1975 SnoGo snow blower.

Financial Impacts:

Larue D60 snow blower $200,891.00 after trade in.

The City is proposing the use of equipment certificates to finance the snow blower.  Ehlers, the City’s financial advisory, has attached a preliminary draft debt repayment schedule.  The equipment certificate would be issued with other City debt in 2022.

Tentative Timelines:

City take delivery January 2022.
