Consider Authorizing Execution of Second Addendum to the Recreation Funding Donation Agreement with Northfield Hospital & Clinics.

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council authorizes execution of the attached Second Amendment to the agreement with Northfield Hospital & Clinics for a donation to fund recreation services July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2022.
Summary Report:
As noted in the City + Hospital Playbook, the NH+C “has a long tradition of making an annual contribution to the City of Northfield for activities that support community health or youth, or both.” It goes on to note that “Provided there is financial ability, the intention is to continue a gift each year in a standard and predictable manner.”
The funding provided to the City is intended to be used for the recreation contract with the school district (see attached).
The City and Hospital Governance Committee had temporarily set aside this agreement during the development of the Playbook. The contribution was discussed and supported by the City/Hospital Governance Committee. The NH+C is scheduled to consider the approval at their regular meeting in December.

Financial Impacts:
$126,032 2021 NH+C Contribution
$252,174 2022 NH+C Contribution (covering 2020 and 2022)

• A new contract would be developed for 2023 and beyond.
