Summary Report:
• Taking applications for the Growing Local: Northfield Emerging Leaders program for 2022. The training program will run from February - May 2022, the first Monday evening of each month. More information and applications can be found on the City website at: <https://www.ci.northfield.mn.us/1323/Leadership-Program>
HRC members are asked to encourage people they know to apply.
• Board & Commission training for all Boards is being offered on October 27 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at the Northfield Community Resource Center building. A meal will be provided. A link to a form to RSVP has been emailed to you from the City Clerk. Please make sure to RSVP and plan to attend. This training will be recorded for viewing at a later time if you are unable to attend.
• Staff participated in the State Local HRC group meeting on September 20, 2021. This included a presentation about the African American Family Preservation Act <http://www.preserveourfamilies.org> that has been presented the past few state legislative sessions but has not been adopted. Local HRCs could consider asking their cities for letters of support.
• Staff are continuing to participate in the Northfield Racial & Ethnic Equity Collaborative. A presentation on this work will be made at the November HRC meeting. This group will be sending out a survey to assess racial equity in Northfield. The HRC is asked to participate in the survey and share with their networks.
• City Managers & Supervisors participated in a training on diversity, equity and inclusion on September 29, 2021 led by Strategic Diversity Initiatives.
