Body

Action Requested:

The Northfield City Council considers a Resolution to accept the donation of a seating area, bike racks and bike repair station from Aurora Pharmaceutical along ECRT.

Summary Report:

Dr. Strobel, Aurora Pharmaceutical would like to make this donation to compliment the trail in this area.  Aurora Pharmaceutical employees along with the users of the ECRT can use and enjoy this area of the trail behind the Aurora property. The Park and Recreation Advisory Board recommended accepting this donation at the August 19, 2021 Park Board meeting.  The project has been completed and this will complete the project and donation acceptance.

Cities may accept gifts of real or personal property, including money, and use them in accordance with the terms prescribed by the donor. A city may not, however, accept or use gifts for religious or sectarian purposes.

A resolution accepting the gift and the donor’s terms must receive an affirmative vote of two-thirds of the members of the council.
