Climate Action Plan Updates

Action Requested:
The EQC will review the 3-year targets from the CAP and discuss work groups.
Summary Report:
The Climate Action Plan was adopted by the City Council on November 5, 2019. The entire plan along with an FAQs document can be found on the Sustainability page of the city website: <www.ci.northfield.mn.us/sustainability>
The CAP is a long-term plan with goals for 100% carbon-free electricity by 2030 and to be 100% carbon-free (neutral) by 2040. It includes some 1-3-year targets. See attached.
Staff created a narrative of some accomplishments from 2020. See attached.
To help provide assistance with CAP implementation, accountability and oversight the EQC assigned members to connect with community/city staff working on various topic area aspects of the CAP - energy, transportation, land use/urban forest, materials & waste, food, and water. See summary from the October EQC meeting update.
The EQC will review these items to help bring new members up to speed and to inform work for 2021.
