Review of Council Rules of Business.

Discussion only. If there are any proposed modifications staff is suggesting to consider those for the meeting on January 19th. If there are no modifications there is no need for any further action.
Summary Report:
The Northfield City Council typically reviews the adopted Rules of Business annually for any potential modifications. Attached is the current version of the Rules of Business for your review.
The only area currently under review is if there is an opportunity to clarify the role of “liaison” and “ex-officio” in the document. As noted last regular meeting, this issue is planned to be reviewed in the broader review of board and commission governance ordinance provisions in 2021. However, providing some definition of these and how they are appointed and confirmed may be useful in the interim. Staff intends to provide some additional thoughts on this prior to the meeting.
Otherwise, the intent is to go through the current Council Rules of Business for discussion and a refresher. If there are areas for discussion for revision this is a good time to bring those up for discussion.
