Consider approval of Tobacco License Renewals.

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves tobacco licenses as shown on Attachment 1, subject to successful completion of all background checks and receipt of all final documents.
Summary Report:
The City received 11 applications for tobacco license renewals as shown on the attached list. Licenses are valid until December 31. The Police Department is conducting background checks and location reviews. Licenses will be issued upon successful completion of all checks and receipt of any outstanding documents.
Compliance checks were conducted on February 10, 2020. There were no violations. A second compliance check was not completed in 2020 due to COVID.
Staff recommends approval of the licenses.

Financial Impacts:
The City of Northfield received $3,225 in license fees. Staff will be reviewing license fees in early 2021.
Tentative Timelines:
The current licenses expire on December 31, 2020. Renewal documents must be sent to the State prior to December 31, 2020.
