Consider the Draft Riverfront Enhancement Action Plan

At the September 2020 Planning Commission meeting, the commissioners were presented with the DRAFT Riverfront Enhancement Action Plan. They were asked to review and comment on the document. This Plan was initiated by the City Council in November 2018, and has been supported through a technical assistance grant from the National Park Service, by a MN based consultant team and an advisory committee of local representatives.
Commissioners Buckheit, Schroeer and Swoboda formed the subcommittee that drafted the Planning Commission comments to be sent to the Riverfront Enhancement Advisory Committee (pending approval from the commission as a whole). A cover memo and draft Planning Commission comments, from the subcommittee, are attached for the review of the commission.

While we expect there will be corrections and additional details to insert, substantive comments on the overall vision, themes and opportunities are of specific interest. All individuals and interested parties are encouraged to submit comments.

Boards and Committees that wish to provide comments are encouraged to submit a single memo that is endorsed by that body. Individual comments from members are also welcomed.
We are targeting mid-October for all comments to be submitted so they can be considered when making final edits to the Draft Action Plan documents.
