Consideration of Budget Amendment Resolution for Additional Legal Services.

Action Requested:
Staff recommends approval of the attached Resolution for a Budget Amendment for Additional Legal Services.
* Note: This requires a super majority vote of the Council for approval (5 of 7).
Summary Report:
Staff is recommending the need for additional legal service and related professional service fees related to the Bridgewater Incorporation Petition.
The City Council had previously approved Resolution 2019-083 authorizing a budget transfer and additional legal fees in 2019. The additional legal fees were not used in 2019. The funds were not budgeted in 2020 so this resolution would be required even though there are funds available in the general fund reserves.
Alternative Options:
Not recommended.
Financial Impacts:
This authorizes use of existing reserves available and currently dedicated for this purpose in the General Fund in the amount of $100,000.
