Age Friendly Northfield Presentation of Request for Outreach Coordinator Financial Support.

Discussion for inclusion in final budget under the budget agenda item immediately following Age Friendly Northfield.
Summary Report:
The Age Friendly Northfield Steering Committee has requested a presentation to the City Council on their $25,000 funding request. It currently is not included in the proposed draft final budget.
The City of Northfield supported the funding of the Age Friendly Northfield Action Plan and is incorporated into the City overall Strategic Plan under the "Diversity, Equity and Inclusion" Strategic Priority and one of the action steps of the strategic initiative to "develop equitable service access strategy."
The implementation of some of the goals and objectives of the Age Friendly Northfield Action plan can be integrated into city work. However, City staff does not have the capacity to deliver internally the areas proposed by the Steering Committee. Additionally, FiftyNorth is in a better position from an operational standpoint to deliver these services.
City Administrator Martig will give an introduction at the meeting and representatives from FiftyNorth will be making the presentation.
Alternative Options:
Deny funding or provide some other level of financial support.
Financial Impacts:
Staff is recommending the funding commitment of this $25,000 request would come from the existing Northfield Community Resource Center (NCRC) funding allocation. The City is allocating about $40,000 dollars, in addition to the FiftyNorth Recreation contribution per an agreement, into the fund to assist in financing improvements to the facility.
Staff would support this request and the recommending financing should Council consider this.
