Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council will hear a presentation on the Convention and Visitors Bureau for the year.
Summary Report:
Lisa Peterson, President of the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, will present an overview of CVB activities (Attachment 1) and present the 2020 budget (Attachment 2). The current contract (Attachment 3) with the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce for the Convention and Visitors Bureau services expires December 31, 2021.
Financial Impacts:
Funding is provided from the 3% lodging tax collected on all lodging rooms within the City. 95% of the tax collected is used to fund the CVB. The remaining 5% is used by the City for administrative fees.
Tentative Timelines:
Consideration for approval of the budget will be on the agenda for the November 5, 2019 meeting.
