Park Infrastructure Capital Needs

The Northfield Park and Recreation Board continues to discuss and prioritize park updates/improvements.
Summary Report:
Below is a first start at a list of Capital needs at our Park and Recreation Facilities. Staff is recommending that we fix what we have before adding new capital infrastructure to our Park and Recreation facilities.
First and Highest Priority
1. Ice Arena/Multi-purpose facility
2. Babcock park - bleacher wall, bathroom upgrade (ADA Accessibility)
3. Playground Equipment Replacement (21 Playgrounds)
4. Riverside/Lions park - bathroom upgrade (ADA Accessibility) at the shelter and install sidewalk to shelter
5. Oddfellows park - bathroom upgrade (ADA Accessibility), fix/repair/build new shelter
6. Sechler Park - Park Shelter, upgrade bathroom to make them ADA Accessible
Second Priority/Items Community is asking for
1. Sechler park - install bathrooms and grinder pumping station by baseball fields.
2. Sechler park - Add baseball and softball fields
3. Riverside park - Build new pickle ball courts, $85,000
4. Spring Creek park - install bathrooms at the picnic shelter
5. Spring Creek park - build lacrosse fields and additional parking lot
6. Sechler park - install irrigation and lighting on softball fields
7. Babcock Park - relocate dog park, construct kayak/canoe/paddleboard takeout
8. Splash pad
Financial Impacts:
Additional funding of the Park fund. Park fund balance is attached.
Tentative Timelines:
5 to 10-year CIP.
