Summary Report:
Northfield Hospital President Steve Underdahl and Chief Operating Officer Jerry Ehn will be in attendance again to summarize the final design, plans and specifications for Northfield Hospital and Clinic "Clinic and Birth Unit Expansion Project."
The City Council had approved the concept for the clinic and birth center expansion at the meeting on December 11, 2018. The resolution authorizing included language that requires "The NHC shall present to the City Council the final design, plans and specifications for project prior to bidding the same in compliance with Minnesota Statutes, section 471. 345." This resolution by City Council delegated some authorities to the Northfield Hospital and Clinic as Charter, Section 14. 4, and Northfield City Code, Section 2- 307, provide in part that the power to construct additions to the hospital and related clinics are to be in the city council exclusively.

Staff also added some information related to the City Comprehensive Plan and community facilities for reference as well.
The full set of plans and specifications are available in electronic format for viewing at the Administration Office in City Hall.
Please note that Northfield Hospital President Steve Underdahl and Chief Operating Officer Jerry Ehn will also briefly summarize the pending consideration of sale of property (land) in Elko New Market following the presentation related to the Clinic and Birthing Unit Expansion. The City Council consideration of this issue is scheduled for August 20.
