Presentation - Age Friendly Northfield Final Action Plan.

Summary Report:

Please see attached presentation and Final Action Plan provided by the Age Friendly Northfield Steering Committee representatives.  The City Council had contracted for services with the Age Friendly Northfield at the June 19, 2019 City Council meeting to complete the following:

 

Completion of a 5-Year Action Plan that will address the gaps and needs in Northfield identified by community members. The Action Plan will be completed by December 31, 2018 and forwarded to the AARP Liveable Communities program manager.

 

Age Friendly Northfield Steering Committee Co-Chairs Lynne Pederson and Shelley Holden will be at the meeting to give the presentation. This action plan has been completed and this presentation fulfills the requirements of this service contract.  The presentation also includes information related to a pending request in City funding assistance from the Age Friendly Steering Committee for a Community Outreach Coordinator.  Details of the amount of the request is anticipated to be available for the August 13th City Council budget retreat.

 

The Age Friendly Northfield Action Plan is consistent with the City Strategic Initiative to “Develop Equitable Service Access Strategy” under the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategic outcome.

 

Councilor DeLong has served as a liaison to the group and may have some comments to provide.

Financial Impacts:                     

The total service contract that the City provided for the action plan was $5,000.
