Staff Update regarding Racial Equity Plan

The Northfield Human Rights Commission Receives an update regarding progress on Racial Equity Plan.
Summary Report:
Program Coordinator, Beth Kallestad, has been getting up to speed on past work done by the Ctiy staff through the Government Alliance for Racial Equity (GARE) program and getting plugged into this network. Beth will attend GARE training on July 26th. Conversations are taking place amongst staff, the city and school district and community partner HCI to determine options for collaboration regarding equity issues.
The Board & Commission training event the city is hosting on October 23rd will have an Equity theme. Staff continue to work on developing a leadership training program to prepare people to serve on Boards & Commissions (city as well as local organizations) and will provide a more detailed update in August.
