Body

Action Requested:

The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution - Awarding Contract for the Street Maintenance Facility Roof Replacement.

Summary Report:

On June 6, 2019, the City opened bids for the Street Maintenance Facility Roof Replacement project.  The City received four bids for the project.  Jackson & Associates LLC of White Bear Lake, Minnesota was the low bidder with an amount of $196,000.00 for a TPO roof.  The bids ranged from 196,000 to 306,000 for the project.

Staff recommends awarding the project to Jackson & Associates LLC of White Bear Lake, MN.   It is anticipated work will begin in late summer/fall of 2019.

Alternative Options:

None recommended.

Financial Impacts:

The construction cost is under the Architects construction estimate of $300,000.  The project will be funded with tax abatement bonds, which will be issued in the fall of 2019 and the City reasonably expects to reimburse itself for these costs from the bond proceeds.  The City had budgeted $550,000 for this project in the 2019 CIP.
