Action Requested:

The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution - Street Maintenance Facility Roof Replacement Project Plans and Specifications and Authorizing Bids.

Summary Report:

Plans and specifications have been finalized for the replacement of the Street Maintenance Facility Roof.  The current rubber ballasted roof is 26 years old and is from the original building construction in 1994.  The roof has reached the end of its life and is due for replacement.

Plans and specifications have been prepared to replace the roof. The plans are attached (Attachment 2). The full construction documents will be available in the City Engineering Department for reference and viewing.

It is anticipated that the roof repair work will begin late summer/early fall and be complete by October. The project process is attached.

Alternative Options:

None recommended.

Financial Impacts:

Project cost estimate is $387,000, see attached cost estimate.  It is recommended that tax abatement bonding be used as the mechanism to fund this improvement.
