Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council is being asked to consider approving the attached Resolution approving a premises permit application for the Northfield Fire Relief Association to conduct gambling activities at Froggy Bottoms River Pub at 307 Water Str. S., Northfield.
Summary Report:
The Northfield Fire Relief Association is in the process of applying for a premises permit to conduct charitable gambling at Froggy Bottoms River Pub. Pursuant to Gambling Control Board procedures, part of the process includes obtaining city approval of the premises permit. The premises permit allows the Northfield Fire Relief Association to conduct gambling activities at Froggy Bottoms River Pub subject to the rules and regulations of the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. Effective July 1, 2009, the term of a premises permit is perpetual. The permit remains in effect until the organization terminates the site or the Gambling Control Board suspends or revokes the permit. Organizations are no longer required to renew premises permits every two years. There are no other organizations conducting gambling at this site. The Northfield Fire Relief Association has previously conducted gambling at this site. Staff recommends approval.
