From: Justin Wagner, Utilities Manager
Title
Motion to Support Participation in the Northfield Rotary Club Electric Vehicle Charging Station Grant Program.
Body
Action Requested:
The EQC is being asked to consider city participation in the Northfield Rotary Club Electric Vehicle Charging Station Grants program and make a recommendation to city council.
Background:
The Northfield Rotary Club did a strategic planning process in 2017 and identified climate action as one of their top priorities. This led to the club forming a Rotary Climate Action Team (RCAT). Through RCAT, the Northfield Rotary Club is spearheading a project to be the catalyst and financial sponsor promoting the installation of “level 2” dual plug electric vehicle (EV) public use charging stations in the Northfield area.
In addition to the local grants, RCAT is reaching out to other Minnesota clubs and working to create a network of charging stations sponsored by Rotary clubs.
