The Northfield City Council will receive a brief update from the Census 2020 Complete Count Committee.
Summary Report:
Complete Count Committee Co-Chairs Char Carlson and Corinne Smith will be present to provide a brief update and the rollout of the Census Count on April 1, one year before the count.
By Resolution 2018-120, on November 20, 2018, the Northfield City Council established the Complete Count Committee Action Plan, which includes the following items:
• Organize local outreach efforts;
• Provide leadership and support for local participation;
• Identify low response areas and populations and create a plan to address participation in these areas, including but not limited to canvass of these areas;
• Develop an action plan that will include activities, events, etc., which will support efforts to meet the goals and objectives of a complete count;
• Implement special events that will generate interest and participation in the census; and
• Create promotional materials that appeal to focus areas as resources are available.

The Complete Count Committee met on January 23, and February 26, 2019. The next meeting is scheduled for March 19, 2019.
