Title
Update from the Northwest Area Land Use Consultant and Process Advisory Committee
Body
SUMMARY:
The Northwest Area Land Use Consultant and Process Advisory Committee has drafted a memorandum outlining the Committee’s work of the past 12 months. Staff presented a brief update to the City Council on the findings of the Committee to date at the December 11 Council meeting.
The intent of the presentation was to provide Council members an initial introduction into the Committee’s findings. Staff intends to initiate a more detailed discussion for Council at a later date in a work session format.
Included in this report are the following documents:
• Memorandum of findings
• Committee Process Recommendation from March 2018
• Key Points from the Consultant Interview Process
The Committee believes significant information has been collected and alternative processes exist and should be explored. The Committee fully supports an incremental development approach for the Northwest Area subject to the recommendations listed above rather than a large master-planned development.
TIMELINE:
Council Work Session in early 2019 to discuss the Committee’s findings in greater detail.
January 15 - Council discussion
January 22 - Potential Action (but no later than end of the extension term in March)
