The Northfield City Council will receive a presentation on the Northfield Hospital & Clinics Expansion Project.

Summary Report:
Northfield Hospital President Steve Underdahl and Chief Operating Officer Jerry Ehn presented information on the proposed projects for the Clinic expansion and Birth Center expansion at the November 20 Council meeting. Additionally, the Hospital Board met on Thursday, November 29, 2018 and recommended moving forward with the project.

The City Council is responsible for approval of any construction of or additions to Northfield Hospital and Clinics (NH+C) facilities per Northfield City Charter Chapter Fourteen - City Hospitals, Section 14.4 as noted below (a complete copy of Chapter 14 is attached):

Section 14.4. - Powers.
The board shall have such powers as stated by ordinance. Nothing in this Charter shall be construed to vest any power in the board to construct any additional hospitals or additions to hospitals, convalescent homes or nursing homes, related medical facilities including medical clinics, or appurtenant structures, to buy or sell any of the above, or to levy or impose taxes in the City of Northfield, such powers to be in the city council.

City Attorney Hood drafted the proposed resolution which has been reviewed and approved by the Hospital Attorney's as well.
