BACKGROUND:
This update includes information gained from the recent State Preservation Conference. All commissioners are encouraged to attend this conference and costs are covered by a grant from SHPO. Next year’s conference will be held in St. Cloud on September 11-13. Rooms are already available, see attached flyer.
Alice Thomas attended the conference again this year and has provided her notes for your review. We will discuss a couple of these points.
One useful item that came out of this year’s conference is the attached information on Commissioner Training and Education. There is an online training module available through the Stillwater HPC. All commissioners are encouraged to check out this program.
Another training item has been provided by the Northfield HR Dept. A copy of the book The On Target Board Member will be provided to the chair for circulation amongst commission members.
