Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council is being asked to consider the attached resolution approving an off-site gambling premises permit application for the Defeat of Jesse James Days Committee to conduct off site gambling activities at the Entertainment Center in the Water Street Parking Lot, during the Defeat of Jesse James Days September 6 - 9, 2018.
Summary Report:
The Defeat of Jesse James Days Committee is in the process of applying for a premises permit to conduct off site charitable gambling. Pursuant to Gambling Control Board procedures, part of the process includes obtaining city approval of the premises permit. The off-site gambling premises permit will allow the Defeat of Jesse James Days Committee to conduct gambling activities at the Entertainment Center on Water Street during the Defeat of Jesse James Days September 6 - 9, 2018 subject to the rules and regulations of the Minnesota Gambling Control Board. If approved, representatives noted they will be selling pull tabs in the Entertainment Center. Sales will be done by staff during designated hours and controlled similar to on-site premises sales for pull tabs. Staff recommends approval.
