Title
Consideration of Consultant Service Contract for Youth Investment Program with Youthprise and Northfield Healthy Communities Initiative related to the Northfield Mayor’s Youth Council and the Northfield Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention.

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves the attached contract with YouthPrise in partnership with Northfield Healthy Community Initiative for the Northfield Youth Investment Program.
Summary
The Northfield Healthy Community Initiative (HCI) provides the staffing, administrative and programming objectives related to the Mayor’s Youth Council and the Northfield Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (formerly known as the Mayor’s Task Force on Youth Alcohol and Drug Use). These are now formal advisory boards of the City. This contract has been in place for three years.
Staff is recommending an extension of the contract for an additional three years with some minor modifications in language. Details are in development and will be provided as supplemental information for the Council packet.
Financial Impacts:
The current contract is for $50,000 per year for the last three years.
Tentative Timelines:
Current contract term ends July of 2018. The new contract would be from August 2018 through July 2021.
