Consider Approval of Fire Department 2019 Contribution.

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves the 2019 budget request from the Northfield Area Fire and Rescue Service (NAFRS) with the proposed budget of $807,000, of which Northfield's contribution is $577,569.90.
Summary Report:
Please see attached background information related to the 2019 budget request by NAFRS. The board made their recommendation at the meeting in June. The total expenditures proposed are $807,000, of which Northfield's contribution is $577,569.90.
The City Council reviewed this budget request at the July 10th Council meeting. There were no concerns raised and staff intended to bring to the consent agenda.
The Joint Powers Agreement requires action by the governing bodies of each of the parties on or before September 30 in each year.
The Joint Powers Agreement Fire Protection and Rescue Services requires board adoption of a budget by August 1. The NAFRS board met on June 21, 2019 and unanimously recommended approval of their 2019 budget request.
The NAFRS Board will be considering recommendation of the 2019 Capital Equipment Plan at their meeting on July 19, 2018. The City Council was presented the preliminary recommended 2019 Capital Equipment Plan at their meeting on July 10th. The approval of the 2019 Capital Equipment Plan will be brought forward at the August Council meeting for consideration.
