Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution Declaring a Local Emergency.
Summary Report:
On May 29, 2018, the Wastewater Treatment Plant Biosolid Building caught fire, causing extensive damages to the process equipment in the building. The process isn’t operational and the City has put in place emergency measures to process the wastewater sludge.
Significant repairs and replacement of equipment is necessary for the process to become operable.
Staff will provide additional details in a supplemental memo prior to the meeting as we are still assessing damages.
