The Northfield Park and Recreation Advisory Board discusses riverfront enhancements pertaining to the Parks along the Cannon River.
Summary Report:
Part of the 2018-2020 Strategic Plan is a riverfront expansion plan. This plan would enhance the asset of the Cannon River while strengthening downtown retail and visitors to Northfield. The attached concept drawing of Ames Park and the riverfront enhancement presentation was brought before council on May 1 and May 8, respectively.
As we move into the strategic plan and think about enhancing the river corridor. There are a few options, look for small improvement that can be planned with the 2019 budget process and also set aside funds in 2019 for concept park planning/sketches in key parks along the river. Staff is looking for input and thoughts from the Board on this.
