Summary Report:
Mayor Pownell, Councilor Ness, and City Administrator Martig have been meeting approximately every other month with Hospital Chair Mandile and CEO Underdahl to coordinate communications on hospital and City related issues. The group recently has been exploring the suggestion to explore best practice around governance models/practices for a stronger working relationship between the Hospital and the City. The attached document outlines the proposal and process.
Chair Mandile and Mayor Pownell presented the concept to the Hospital Board at their board meeting on April 26th. The purpose and concept overall was well received by the Board. There was discussion related to some considerations of amendments to be reviewed at their May board meeting.
Mayor Pownell, Councilor Ness and City Administrator Martig will give some additional background and answer any questions at the meeting.
