East Cannon River Trail Grand Opening

Action Requested:
The Northfield Park and Recreation Advisory Board discusses the trail opening.
Summary Report:
The ECRT was finished November 2017. The grand opening of the trail is scheduled for June 2, 2018, which coincides with National Trails Day.
Some ideas for the ceremony are to bike/walk down the trail and complete the loop using Mill Towns Trail and the trail through Sechler Park. Highlight the canoe landing and picnic shelter along the trail. Perform a ribbon cutting.
We are seeking input from PRAB on ideas or thoughts for the trail opening.
If possible, we would like PRAB members to attend the ceremony.
Advertising of the trail grand opening will be featured in Community Education’s spring brochure and it will be posted on the City’s website and Facebook page.
