The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution proclaiming April 22, 2018 as Earth Day in Northfield.
Summary Report:
The City of Northfield’s Earth Day aims to inspire awareness of, and appreciation for, the Earth’s environment. It is currently observed in more than 140 countries around the world. Earth Day, founded by Senator Gaylord Nelson, was first organized in 1970 to promote ecology and respect for life on the planet as well as to encourage awareness of the growing problems of air, water and soil pollution.
Northfield will celebrate Earth Day on Sunday, April 22, 2018. The Environmental Quality Commission will have members at the annual Northfield Earth Day Celebration being held at the Armory Square in Northfield.
