Consideration to Accept Public Improvements and Accept Final Payment - Storm Sewer Improvements - TK Properties Woodley Townhomes

Action Requested:                     

The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution Accepting the Public Improvements and Approving the Final Payment for Storm Sewer Improvements - TK Properties of Northfield, LLC. (the “Developer”).

 

Summary Report:

The City Council is being asked to accept the public improvements for the Storm Sewer Improvements related to a Multi-Family Development at 1012 East Woodley Street.  Additionally, Council is being asked to approve payment of $39,000.00.

 

City Council approved Resolution 2016-080 (Attachment 2) at the August 2, 2016 City Council meeting.  According to the agreement for Storm Sewer Improvements, the City of Northfield shall reimburse the Developer for sixty-five percent (65%) of the costs incurred to construct the Improvements up to an amount not to exceed $39,000.00.  The Developer has submitted costs in excess of the $39,000.00 reimbursement calculation, (Attachment 3) and therefore Staff recommends reimbursement of the full $39,000.00

 

This project has been reviewed by the Public Works staff and is recommended for acceptance. (Attachment 4) 

Alternative Options:

This project is completed and the final acceptance and payment is needed to close out the agreement

 

Financial Impacts:                     

This project was funded through the Stormwater Enterprise Fund.

 

Tentative Timelines:

Upon acceptance by the City Council, the final payment will be processed and sent to the Developer. A one-year warranty will commence following the completion and acceptance of all improvements by the City.
