SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED:
Set date for HRA work session to create 2018 through 2020 HRA work plan.
BACKGROUND:
In the past, the Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA) has adopted a 3-year work plan outlining their goals and initiatives. The most recent work plan for 2015 - 2017 was adopted by the HRA in 2015.
The City of Northfield’s recently adopted strategic plan includes the strategic priority of affordable housing, making Northfield a community where everyone can afford to live.
The strategic plan also includes the desired outcomes, key outcome indicators, target, and strategic initiatives for affordable housing.
Under the guidance of Craig Rapp, LLC, City staff met on May 31, and June 29, 2017, to identify strategic initiatives that would produce the desired outcomes for strategic priorities identified by the City Council.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the HRA hold a 2-hour work session to develop a work plan for 2018 through 2020, which is in line with the strategic plan adopted by the City Council. HRA staff liaison will determine work session date by determining availability of HRA Board Members utilizing Doodle Poll. HRA Board to approve work plan at next available regular meeting of the HRA Board.
