Title
Update on Pollinator Friendly Community Brochures
Body
Action Requested:
The Northfield Environmental Quality Commission receives an update on the distribution of pollinator friendly community brochures.
Summary Report:
On May 15, 2016, the City Council adopted a resolution to be a pollinator friendly community and encouraging residents and businesses to adopt pollinator friendly practices.
The City of Northfield has a native plant landscaping rebate program. This program gives residents a 33% rebate up to $75 for planting native plants, which help support pollinators. This rebate is a credit on the resident’s utility bill.
At the June 8, 2017 Environmental Quality Commission meeting, EQC members requested that the pollinator friendly community brochures be distributed to locations within the City. Since that meeting, brochures have been distributed to EcoGardens, Just Foods Co-op, Northfield Public Library and Knecht’s Nursery.
