Review of 2018 Northfield Area Fire & Rescue Service (NAFRS) Budget Request.

Summary Report:
Please see attached background information related to the 2018 budget request by NAFRS. The board made their recommendation at the meeting in July. The total expenditures proposed are $525,000 which is the same as 2017.
NAFRS Chair Castore and Fire Chief Franek will be in attendance at the meeting to present the proposed budget. City Administrator Martig and Councilor Peterson White, who is a NAFRS Board member, may have additional comments.
The Joint Powers Agreement requires action by the governing bodies of each of the parties on or before September 30 in each year. Staff is proposing to act on the budget at the August 22, 2017 regular meeting unless extra time is necessary to review.
