Consider Adoption of Strategic Plan Summary (2018-2020).

Action Requested:
Staff recommends a motion to approve the Strategic Plan Summary (2018-2020).
Summary Report:
Attached is the proposed Strategic Plan Summary (2018-2020) that has been in development. Consultant Craig Rapp intended to present this proposed summary. The intent was articulated to bring forward the summary document for consideration of approval on August 8th.
The final report is planned to be presented on September 8th with consideration of acceptance and approval at that time. A full recap of the strategic planning process and further clarification of the action plans, implementation and report will be presented at that time.
The final report will include the proposed new Vision and Mission Statements. The existing Vision and Mission statements and drafts are attached for your information. The following are the revised recommended Vision and Mission for your review:
Vision: Northfield is an open, safe, and welcoming community, recognized for its world-class colleges and historic riverfront downtown, and is dedicated to sustainably enhancing and preserving its vibrant culture, celebrated arts, strong economy and an excellent quality of life where all can thrive.
Mission: The City of Northfield works for the common good of our residents and businesses and the improvement of our community by providing excellent innovative municipal services that carry out the City's vision for a high quality of life for all.
Staff welcomes any input on the newly proposed Vision and Mission in preparation of bringing these forward in September for consideration of adoption.
