Consider Approval of Refuse License for Curbside Compost Cooperative

Action Requested:
The Northfield City Council hereby approves a refuse license for Curbside Compost Cooperative effective June 7 - March 31, 2018.
Summary Report:
The City Council is being asked to approve a refuse license for Curbside Compost Cooperative. Owners Clifford Martin and Helen Forsythe will be providing a private curbside residential compost service for organic waste. Further information regarding the business can be found on their website: <https://www.northfieldcompost.com/>
In addition to the completed application, licensees are also are required to submit the following documents:
• Certificate of insurance
• List of vehicles
• Certificate of compliance Minnesota Workers’ Compensation Law
• Tax information form
A license is required to transport garbage, recyclables, or refuse for hire on any street or public place in Northfield.
Staff recommends approval of the refuse license.

The license fee is $85. Licenses fees are $75 plus $10 per vehicle.
