Summary Report:
The Northfield Downtown Development Commission (NDDC) and Northfield Roundtable have requested a presentation to the City Council on their current work underway. Presenters will include Dave Neuger and Charlie Kyte for the Northfield Roundtable and their updates on their Framework Plan. The presentation will then transition to Will Schroeer with the NDDC Board and Visioning Group. Current NDDC Director Jenny Roney is unable to attend the meeting but has been actively involved.
The Northfield Downtown Development Corporation was established in 2000 as an organization dedicated to sustaining a vibrant and vital Downtown. They work to advance the interests of Downtown Northfield by supporting business owners, service providers, property owners and residents in downtown. They build cooperation among downtown stakeholders by collaborating with local organizations including the City of Northfield, the Northfield Enterprise Center, the Northfield Historical Society, the Heritage Preservation Commission, the Northfield Arts Guild, the Chamber of Commerce and the Convention & Visitors Bureau. They promote investment in downtown and work to attract residents and visitors to the heart of the Northfield community. In 2016, a “Vision for Downtown” group was formed by the NDDC to give community members a voice in enhancing our downtown.

The Northfield Roundtable is a citizen group that describes itself as have interest in "what could be" for Northfield versus "what should be." They focus on community development planning within the framework of broader community plans and initiatives, including city plans, but have no direct affiliation with the City of Northfield. The Northfield Roundtable has completed several public workshops with Bill Johnson, a nationally known City Planner from Holland, Michigan and their Framework Plan includes a portfolio of past projects they have explored.
