The Northfield City Council approves the attached resolution accepting a donation from the Northfield Garden Club and in-kind contribution of a honey bee landscape feature and plantings in Riverside Park.

Summary Report:

The Garden Club, along with Northfield in Bloom, would like to add a third planting bed in the shape of a honey bee at Riverside Park.  Two previous planting beds have been completed of a dragonfly and butterfly.  Attached is the preliminary plan of the honey bee, not to scale.  The honey bee will be approximately 15’ by 25’.

The Garden Club has received a $5000 grant to put towards the installation of the honey bee.  The City of Northfield would add an in-kind contribution of $2000 funded from the parks operation and maintenance account.

The Arts and Culture Commission approved this art feature at their April 10th meeting.  The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board approved the installation and plantings at their April 20th meeting.
