Consideration to Accept Donation of a Little Library at Dresden Hills Park

Action Requested:                     

The Northfield City Council approves the attached resolution accepting a donation of a Little Library to be installed at Dresden Hills Park.

 

Summary Report:

A group of students at the Northfield Middle School, along with Growing Up Healthy, have built Little Libraries to be located throughout neighborhoods in Northfield.  Growing Up Healthy would like to install a Little Library at Dresden Hills Park.  This library will be stocked by Northfield Promise, Growing Up Healthy and neighborhood leaders who will also maintain the library.

 

Little Libraries have been installed at other Northfield Parks previously donated by Northfield Boy Scouts.  They include Washington, Heywood, John North and Sibley Swale parks.

 

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board approved the installation of the library at their April 20 meeting.
