Title

Garden Club’s Landscape Plan of a Honey Bee at Riverside Park

Body

Action Requested:

The Northfield Park and Recreation Advisory Board views a presentation by Judy Code representing The Garden Club on the landscape plan for a honey bee at Riverside Park.  The Board is asked to approve the installation of the honey bee and plantings.

Summary Report:

The Garden Club would like to add a third planting bed in the shape of a honey bee.  Two previous planting beds have been completed of a dragonfly and butterfly.  Attached is the preliminary plan of the honey bee. The scale is 1/16” = 1’.

The Garden Club has received a $5000 grant to put toward the installation of the honey bee.  The City of Northfield would add a maximum contribution of $2000 coming from the parks operations and maintenance account.

The Arts and Culture Commission approved this art feature at their April 10th meeting.
