SUMMARY AND ACTION REQUESTED:

Introducing Project Managers Kayla Schuchman and Diana Dyste of Common Bond Communities.

 

BACKGROUND:

Common Bond Communities develops, preserves, and manages affordable housing with on-site resident services.  It is the Midwest’s largest nonprofit provider of affordable housing and has served the region for over 40 years.  Common Bond Communities has developed, owned or managed more than 5,600 affordable rental apartments and townhomes throughout 50 cities in Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa.

 

Common Bond Communities owns and operates Wellstone Commons and Greenvale Place in Northfield.

 

Wellstone Commons has 29 dwelling units located at 408 North Spring Street.  They offer affordable rents for income qualified seniors 62 years of age and older.  Advantage Services provides support services designed to help residents live independently in a caring community. 

 

Greenvale Place is a 96 unit apartment complex located at the corner of Greenvale Avenue and Spring Street North.  They offer affordable rents to income qualified applicants.  All utilities are included in the monthly rent.

 

Common Bond is interested in opportunities to expand and maintain affordable housing in Northfield.
