Action Requested:                     

The Northfield City Council consider approval of IDShield as an additional voluntary benefit for City employees.

 

Summary Report:

IDShield, administered by Kroll Fraud Solutions, provides comprehensive identity theft solutions for victims of identity theft that expect answers and help to restore their identity, confidence, and reputation.  Kroll’s licensed investigators help victims of identity theft get their lives back to normal. 

 

IDShield membership includes:

                     Privacy monitoring

                     Security Monitoring

                     Consultation

                     Full Service Restoration

 

An employee who purchases the Identity Theft plan through the City of Northfield as a payroll deducted benefit has no pre-existing exclusion for a previous Identity Theft issue.

 

The cost for IDShield using payroll deduction is $8.95 per month for individual coverage and $18.95 per month for family coverage for the year 2017. 

Alternative Options:

None recommended.

 

Financial Impacts:

No cost to the City.  This is a voluntary benefit available through payroll deduction.

 

Tentative Timelines:                     

If approved, Dennis Siegling, President of Midwest Benefits Solutions, will attend the annual employee benefits fair on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 along with other benefit vendors to promote this new benefit.
