Rice County Habitat for Humanity Update.
Body
Action Requested:
Rice County Habitat for Humanity, Executive Director, Dayna Norvold, is to provide an update to the HRA.
Summary Report:
The HRA’s mission is to be a partner in providing a sufficient supply of affordable, adequate, safe and sanitary dwellings in Northfield.
Our goal is to create a community with housing opportunities available along the entire housing spectrum: from renters to homeownership, first-time homeowners, to senior living, workforce housing and empty-nesters. We strive to create affordable housing opportunities and strengthen our neighborhoods utilizing:
• Sustainability
• Innovation
• Partnerships
• Community Input
Rice County Habitat for Humanity partners with families who otherwise may be unable to achieve the dream of home ownership by establishing partnerships among God’s people to build simple, decent and affordable homes. The Northfield HRA is a steady community partner and support each other’s overall housing goals.
Executive Director, Dayna Norvold, is to provide the HRA an update on the funding and supports HRA has provided to Rice County Habitat for Humanity as well as updates that impact Rice County Habitat for Humanity’s ability to help households.
Rice County Habitat for Humanity also would like the HRA to consider at its January 2025 work session:
• Down Payment Assistance for 2 Habitat builds;
• HRA to give Habitat/Starfish 308 Cherry Street.
