Action Requested:                     

The Northfield City Council approves the attached Resolution - TH 3 Traffic Signal Improvements Project (STRT2022-A61), Accepting Public Improvements and Approving Final Payment for the Project.

 

Summary Report:

The City Council is being asked to accept the public improvements for the TH 3 Traffic Signal Improvements Project (STRT2022-A61), and approve final payment to River City Electric Co. in the amount of $22,075.30 (Attachment 2).  The contract was awarded to River City Electric Co. at the October 4, 2022 City Council Meeting in the amount of $427,256.00, which is also the final contract payment amount.

 

Alternative Options:

This project is completed and the final acceptance and payment is required to close out the construction contract. 

 

Financial Impacts:                     

The total project costs for the project were $460,502.50, which includes Engineering and Overhead Costs.  The tables below detail the final total project costs and final total project funding.  The City of Northfield, Rice County, and the City of Dundas applied and received $290,000 in Local Partnership Program (LPP) funds to apply to the signal improvement project.  The funds were distributed to the City of Northfield, who managed the execution of the LPP funds.

 

 

 

 

 

Tentative Timelines:

Upon acceptance by the City Council, the final payment will be processed and sent to the Contractor.  At that point, the two-year maintenance bond will begin if warranty work is required.
